ABOUT

Since I was a little boy, I’ve had a deep love for music in all of its forms, especially that of percussion. Growing up, I was lucky to have a variety of incredible teachers, and it’s a gift I’d like to give back to the community now that I am comfortable in my skills. I am currently a second-year student at the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater, and Dance, with a concentration in Performing Arts Technology. I have been teaching percussion of all styles for over 5 years to children and adults alike, and am able to teach students from all skill levels in any style of percussion they’d desire to learn.

Lessons

Lessons can either be conducted at my studio on 502 Catherine St., or at the client’s house. Although either is perfectly acceptable, the studio has two drum sets, meaning student and teacher can play together, which I have found results in a much more enjoyable and informative lesson overall. Lessons are available in either 30-minute or 60-minute sessions, and are scheduled weekly. Regular attendance is strongly encouraged.

EXPERIENCE

I am an expert percussionist who has been playing the drums for over 12 years. I have played in a variety of different rock bands, jazz combos, metal bands, and other percussive outfits. I have been lucky enough to tour multiple states with some of these bands, and have gotten to share the stage with acts like Mayer Hawthorne and Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers. Locally, I have played high-powered gigs at the Live on Washington music festival, Ypsilanti threads music festival, and the Hamtramck music festival.

RENTALS

Rental instruments can be leased for one week at a time, with the inclusion of valid ID and security deposit equal to 10% the retail cost of the rented instrument. Failure to bring the instrument back in the condition it was rented will result in the use of the security deposit to repair or replace the instrument.
